The Ulëz & Shkopet HPPs are built on the Mat River cascade. They have an installed capacity of 50 MW. The Bistrica 1 & 2 HPPs operate in the Bistrica River cascade, with an installed capacity of 27 MW. Hydropower plants generate enough energy to supply the plants in Elbasan, turning them into integrated plants that self provide their electricity to work. The rest of the production is sold in the domestic market.
